Is there a better, more palatable way to manage complex markets and complex contracts? Yes, there is. With control and compliance, it can be better managed.&nbsp;
First, you need to control what is controllable: Accrual accuracy is critical in the prevention of revenue leakage.

Example: QSR A gets an invoice from Distributor B and it shows the $2 off that needs to be claimed. QSR A&rsquo;s payable system shows that they get $2 back for every case. A debit or deduction is created for the difference or claim. Distributor B still needs to get the extra $2 from you, the manufacturer &ndash; complexity comes into play because you need to know how many cases were actually sold by Distributor B to QSR A.

In other words, you need validation: did they sell enough to meet the terms of the contract agreement? This liability is on your books as an expense so it needs to be paid and you need to know when it should be paid. The quicker the claims come in, the better it is for you. More importantly, you need to know exactly how much it will be because you will show a debit until this money comes in, impacting other spending that needs to take place. Accrual accuracy is what&rsquo;s needed.

Second, you need a solution that determines whether or not the volume terms of the contract are in compliance.&nbsp;<a href="#" rel="follow">Invalid claims <img src="https://cdn.buttercms.com/rM0UHxNNRGO9loinIZqC" alt="Group 2289.png" width="17" height="17"></a> and contract compliance are costing you a ton of money but with proper claim management and a focus on details, this can be managed efficiently and in an automated manner.
